If there’s one thing writers are jealous of it’s Game of Thrones intense dialogue and characterization. To wit, Jim Rash’s show “The Writer’s Room” took a more in depth look at just how the writer’s on the show collaborate on ideas pulled from the pages of George R.R. Martin’s expansive series and original ideas needed to keep the visual narrative in check. Here we have David Benioff and D.B. Weiss discussing just how little they really knew about the process of making a television show in the beginning and the very rough road they had to go down to turn what were once “Massive Problems” into one of the most acclaimed shows on television. This, the fifth episode in the series, it can be found and watched in full on Netflix.

For the impatient, here’s a short clip from the full twenty minute episode.

If you’ve got Netflix this link should get you to the full episode.

Of course if you can’t beat the written work, beat the writers. There are some short clips, made by amateurs and professionals alike, that turn to the imaginative minds behind the show as a fodder for their comedy. Everyone who’s ever even come in contact with a copy of Final Draft understands just how difficult it would be to completely emulate it. Of course, it’s all in good fun, more poking fun at the series as it airs than the writers themselves. With all the blood, sex, and varied styles of amputation on the show, it’s easy to start wondering just what kind of people are behind it all. Fair warning that some of this may be NSFW (Not Safe For Work), but if you enjoy the show already I think it’s fair to assume that a few clips off Youtube won’t melt your brain. Still, fair warning…
