Thanks to USA Today, Game of Thrones fans can now know exactly what to expect in the season 3 DVD and Blu-ray box sets. The details can be seen below:
Bonus stuff on the DVD includes:
– “A Gathering Storm,” a 14-minute recap of the second season;
– “The Politics of Marriage,” where cast/crew examine the institution’s place in the show;
– An “Inside the Wildlings” featurette;
– Another feature spotlighting new characters;
– Five deleted and extended scenes; and
– Twelve audio commentaries with the cast and crew.The Blu-ray with HBO Select release includes all of the above as well as:
– An in-episode guide with character info and locations;
– The Rains of Castamere Unveiled
– The Roots of Westeros guide
– A “Histories & Lore” feature about the mythology of Westeros.
If that wasn’t enough, they have also made available an advance preview of the filming process for the infamous Red Wedding. In a short extract from a feature entitled “The Rains of Castamere Unveiled”, we are given some insight by director David Nutter, Richard Madden (Robb Stark), David Bradley (Walder Frey), and Oona Chaplin (Talisa Maegyr-Stark).
