Game of Thrones S2 Begins Filming in Iceland

By Jacob Klein on Nov 30, 2011 to Game of Thrones

Filming of Game of Thrones Season 2 has been underway for several months now but the production team is now concluding principal filming in the country of Iceland!  HBO has already released a short trailer featuring behind the scenes moments on the set of Game of Thrones season 2 so if you haven’t see that yet do so now!

We haven’t been told which scenes will be filmed in Iceland but the screenshot to your right is of Jon Snow (Kit Harrington) in full Night’s Watch regalia!  Some members of the Icelandic media were invited on set and filed this report!  You may need a Maester to help you translate it though… it’s in Icelandic!  If we hear anything else about the going-on on the set of Game of Thrones you’ll be the first to know!

If you take a look at the video report from the same site you’ll hear the Game of Thrones producers indicate that a character who doesn’t die in the book will die in the show.  Our friends over at Winter-is-Coming also confirm this to be the case.  We assume this will be a relatively minor character but we could be wrong!  Who do you think they’re referring to?  Leave a comment below with your thoughts.

Game of Thrones Season 2 Premieres in April of 2012, only on HBO.
