HBO has just lost that ENLIGHTENED feeling. I could also argue that America itself never felt so inclined because the show, sadly for me, has been dropped due to low ratings. Let me give you some numbers: Season One had a total of 0.17 million viewers and Season Two premiered on 01.13.23 with 300,000 viewers and concluded on 03.03.13 with 220,000. HBO has just issued this press release reguarding the normal HBO Sunday schedule conflicting with the Super Bowl: With the Super Bowl scheduled for next Sunday, Feb. 3, your readers may be interested to know that this week’s episodes of GIRLS and ENLIGHTENED will have a one-time-only debut presentation the day before, on Saturday, Feb. 2.   The next episode of GIRLS debuts SATURDAY, FEB. 2 (10:05-10:35 p.m. ET/PT), followed immediately by the debut of the next episode of ENLIGHTENED (10:35-11:05 p.m. ET/PT). Somehow I missed Season One of ENLIGHTENED.  It premiered on October 11, 2011 and ran for ten episodes. So, I needed to catch up. Dermoy Mulroney, who can most recently be seen in across from Zooey Deschanel on NBC’s New Girl  has just been cast for HBO’s second season of Enlightened.  The last news coming out of the Enlightened camp was the Molly Shannon would be playing a recurring role on the series. Mulroney will play Jeff Flender, an investigative reporter and  probable love interest for Laura Dern. Big news from HBO today as the premium cable network has decided to renew it’s Golden Globe nominated dramedy ‘Enlightened’.  We can also confirm that HBO has decided not to order new seasons of Bored to Death, Hung or How to Make it in America. Fans of the new comedy series Enlightened should be pleased with the renewal of Laura Dern’s new show.
