Are you a Miranda? Maybe you’re more of a Charlotte. Carrie? Sex and the City had a persona for every woman in the late 90’s. From over sized car phones to tube televisions it’s clear what era this show is depicting no matter when you end up finding it. At the time you probably watched the show from the comfort of you living room.  But these days people demand a streaming platform to access their favorite programs– current or classic as SatC now is.

Here are a few different ways to get your Sex fix.  Watching Sex and the City online has never been easier and this access will assure that a future generation of women (and men willing to admit it) will be influenced by this “Golden Age of HBO” Program.

Watch SatC Live with Sling Premium

Sling is a cable alternative that doesn’t require much more than $20 a month to get most of your favorite channels. This doesn’t include HBO or SatC, though and you’ll have to add $15 for HBO to that if you want to watch SatC live that way.

You can sign up or explore the service more here.  There’s a 7-Day free trial so this might be a nice alternative if you want to give it a chance.

Try DirecTV Now for Free and Add HBO for $5

This is actually the cheapest way to get Sex and the City online that we know of. You subscribe to DirecTV’s new service for about $35 which gives you tons of channels (almost all cable channels you could think of) and then for $5 more you can add HBO. Usually it’s about $15 anywhere else.  There’s a 7-Day free trial so it can’t hurt to give it a try.

Is Sex and the City on Netflix or Hulu?

Let’s keep this short and sweet (like Harry, Charlotte’s husband): Sex and the City will never be on Netflix of Hulu because HBO does not put any of their programming on either of those platforms.  Now, there could be some distant future where HBO makes a deal with Netflix but we doubt that will happen any time soon. The companies are bitter enemies at the moment.

Don’t bother searching, Carrie and Co aren’t on Netflix.

Older HBO Shows are Streaming on Amazon Prime

If you’re an Amazon Prime member and you’re trying to watch an older HBO show like The Sopranos or Sex and the City stop what you’re doing and head over there now because older HBO shows stream free with a Prime subscription.

You get a free month when you sign up so there’s really no excuse not to when you factor in the free shipping on Amazon stuff as well as the large streaming video library. Give it a try.

HBO Go and HBO Now

All HBO programming is available on HBO Go and HBO Now. This is really the ultimate solution if you want to watch Sex and the City online, anytime, anywhere.  With HBO Go you’ll need a cable subscription but with HBO Now all you need is the internet (they didn’t have that in Sex and the City but you do now!). Here’s how to subscribe to one or both of HBO’s streaming services.

Blu-Ray and DVD

HBO has released a great DVD set for Sex and the City but they have yet to release a Blu-Ray boxed set. When they do, we assume they’ll include the digital versions of the show as they have done with their other series.  My wife actually owns the Pink DVD set (a gift from me!) which I’d totally recommend in the mean time.  It gets the job done.  Pick that up here if you want to own the series.  It looks great on the mantle.  We’re guessing they’re waiting for the rumored 3rd movie before they drop the entire series.

Other, Illegal Methods of Streaming

Why would you steal this show when HBO offers so many legit ways to watch Sex and the City online? Do you really want to skim through malware and viruses just to save a few bucks? Do yourself a favor and subscribe to HBO Now or HBO Go. But if you do choose to steal this show.  Just know that Mr. Big is watching.  And he’s not happy.
