HBO has no shortage of hit programming. Vinyl is just the latest in a long line of quality dramas that have graced HBO’s airwaves. With the pedigree of Martin Scorsese, as well as the head writer from Boardwalk Empire you’ve got the makings of another truly great series. Set in the 70’s Rock and Roll scene (think Mick Jagger who is actually a producer on the show!), Vinyl follows a hit maker from that era of music. Of course this involves heavy drug use, partying, sex and even some violence. The show will be dark but we hope it will features some amazing music from that era as well.

HBO has several options for streaming their shows, including Vinyl online. Here are some of the options for getting the show, some free, some paid.

Watch Live Vinyl with Sling Premium

Sling is a cable alternative that doesn’t require much more than $25 a month to get most of your favorite channels. This doesn’t include HBO or Vinyl, though and you’ll have to add $15 for HBO to that if you want to watch Vinyl live that way.

You can sign up or explore the service more here.  There’s a 7-Day free trial so this might be a nice alternative if you just want to give it a chance.

Is Vinyl on Netflix or Hulu?

HBO and Netflix are not friends. They’ve been competing in the same spaces of the business world for some time now. With both companies looking to dominate the premium television scene as well as the streaming world HBO has pulled all of their content from Netflix. Vinyl has never, and never will appear on Netflix because of this.

Hulu is no different. Vinyl will not be streaming on Hulu’s service any time soon so don’t bother searching for it there.  Relax, though! There are other ways to watch Vinyl online.

Watch Vinyl Online with the HBO Apps

HBO has a pair of apps: HBO Now and HBO Go. They’re very similar in most ways and the interfaces are actually identical at this point. But the major difference is that HBO Go is for those traditional HBO cable subscribers. You’ll use your cable login to access that app and stream Vinyl for free that way. HBO Now, on the other hand does not require a cable subscription at all. You can sign up for fifteen dollars a month and watch Vinyl with your proprietary HBO login.

Both of these will get you Vinyl streaming to a device of your choosing! If you’re already subscribed to HBO then grab the login you use to pay your bill online. You’re good to go! If not, you can signup for HBO Now and begin streaming new episodes of Vinyl immediately.

Purchase Full Episodes of Vinyl at a Digital Retailer

If you don’t need to live stream Vinyl online you can always wait for the episodes to appear on Amazon or iTunes. They’re usually about three bucks each per episode for an HD download or stream. The wait might be hard to swallow but at least you’ll have the digital copy of the episode forever, on any device. You can even watch Vinyl offline if you need to because you’ll have the episode saved to your machine. To be clear, you can stream Vinyl online from the cloud as well but you also have the option to download it as a file.

Avoid Illegal Live Streams of Vinyl Online

You may be tempted to find an illegal stream of Vinyl online somewhere. We can’t recommend this because we’d lead you into a virus, malware or sexually explicit foreign ads of some kind. If you search for one, keep in mind that most of them aren’t only illegal, they probably don’t even work in our experience. Use one of the above streaming options instead.

We hope you get your Vinyl fix. We’ll update this list as new options emerge.
