watch-house-of-the-dragon-onlineIn October 2019, HBO announced that it had committed to a Game of Thrones spin-off show. After the potential “successor series”  entitled Bloodmoon fell through, HBO is now moving forward with filming the first 10-episode season of House of the Dragon. A Song of Ice and Fire author George R.R. Martin is set to be involved in House of the Dragon‘s production. The series also boasts Ryan Condal and GOT‘s lauded director Miguel Sapochnik as its show-runners. Inspired by Martin’s faux-history book, Fire & Blood, the series will follow the Targaryens’ reign over Westeros long before the royal House’s defeat at the hands of the Baratheons and subsequent, short-lived revival by GOT’s infamous Daenerys Targaryen. Fans of Game of Thrones can anticipate more of what they loved about the original show– dragons, politics, betrayal, and war. While the show will focus primarily on the Targaryens, readers of Fire & Blood can attest that other beloved Houses of Westeros such as the Starks and Greyjoys will have time to shine.

If you don’t have a cable subscription to HBO, there are many different ways to watch House of the Dragon online. Game of Thrones had the dubious honor of being one of the most pirated television shows ever from its first season to its last. However, even Westeros’ piratical Ironborn know that “paying the Iron Price” comes at a cost. Illegally streaming or downloading shows such as House of the Dragon can leave you open to threats from viruses and HBO’s copyright lawyers. A Lannister always pays his debts– so should you.
