The Max streamer is always about changing up its content, right? The HBO Hub might not have a lot right now due to industry woes, but the site does offer content that gets repackaged now and again to attract viewer interest and one such repackaging is the House of Halloween Collection. Have you checked it out yet?

As its promotional tag says – “From fun frights to fear fanatics, there’s something for every spooky streamer this month.” Of course, most of the content is not an HBO Original or even a Max Original but imported content from other WBD outlets. This collection includes series & cartoons, reality shows, and food competitions alongside classic and recent movie choices. Let’s throw out some titles, shall we?

Max_HouseOfHalloween2023-pic02It is not too late to binge AMC+’s Fear the Walking Dead, the older The Vampire Diaries, or the HBO classic TRUE BLOOD. There are movie faves from the genre like Beetlejuice, Edward Scissorhands, Sleepy Hollow, Teen Wolf, and The Lost Boys. More classic titles include 1958’s Horror of Dracula, 1959’s The Mummy, 1958’s The Blob and Godzilla from 1954, plus many more. In fact, there is a set of works all about vampires and one listing Stephen King’s works including The Shining and its sequel, Pet Sematary and its sequel, Cujo, Silver Bullet, Carrie and its remake, It and the HBO Original THE OUTSIDER.

Max_Scoobtober-300x163For the younger crowd, they curated the Harry Potter franchise, The Corpse Bride, Teen Witch, plus cartoons like Courage, the Cowardly Dog, and The Grim Adventures of Bill & Mandy. Plus, what would Halloween be without Scoobtober with over two dozen Scooby-Doo animated spook tales?

That just scratches the surface of what frights are out there. Food Network has Halloween-themed baking challenges and Discovery scares up hunts for Bigfoot and all sorts of paranormal investigating. For this writer, if I get the time, my Halloween will be spent with Álex de la Iglesia’s 30 COINS or something from the TCM Hub. What do you want to see from the collection?
