If you noticed your HBO Go app updating last night it’s actually because the Home Box Office dev teams have given you an early Christmas present. HBO Go now does two things it didn’t do yesterday:
- Now binge-watch your favorite HBO series with the Autoplay Next Episode feature!
- Multi-task while enjoying the HBO GO experience on select iPads and iPad mini models by using the Picture-In-Picture mode.
HBO Now, the standalone app that doesn’t require a cable subscription also has these features. This brings HBO’s apps in line with other services such as Netflix, Hulu and the like. These features aren’t mind-blowing by any stretch of the imagination but we’ve heard our readers request this more than once. Well, now you have them!
As HBO gears up to take on some of the biggest names in the streaming world, we expect their apps to become more robust, quicker and kept up with the most modern application features. In fact, HBO Now was named the app of the year just this week.
