HBO’s sister station is an up and coming premium cable network. Cinemax has launched several new series in the past few years including The Knick, Strike Back and Banshee. And much like her sister, Cinemax has a top of the line streaming mechanism that is the envy of most other networks. Between the app, the website and a few other options watching Cinemax online doesn’t have to be a chore. A live stream is just a few clicks away.

Here are a few different ways to stream Cinemax live online from your favorite device.

Try DIRECTV Now for Free and Add Cinemax for $5

AT&T TV NOW is a lot like cable. Except that it offers about the same channel selection for a fraction of the cost and that can even include Cinemax. Packages start at about $35 but that should save you a ton over a traditional package. They have a seven day trial and you can decide if it’s best for you.

Watch Cinemax Live Streaming with Sling

Sling is a lot like DTVN but costs only $25 to start with fewer channels. You can upgrade to higher packages to get more and Cinemax is an addon as well. They also have a seven day free trial so start streaming Cinemax tonight:

Are Cinemax Series on Netflix or Hulu?

There was a time when almost all television content was available on Netflix. But slowly networks began to realize that their content was more valuable than the pittance Netflix was paying them for access. HBO led the way by pulling most of their shows from Netflix and Cinemax came right along with them (as they are owned by the same parent company). Today Showtime, Starz and even to some extent AMC have all pulled some or all of their shows from Netflix and Hulu.  Needless to say Cinemax series are not on Netflix.  And Cinemax series are not on Hulu either.

Stream Cinemax Series from the Official App or Website

If you’ve used HBO Go you’re 100% familiar with Max Go. They’re built on the exact same platform. They even look identical:

You’ll need a cable subscription to log into Max Go but once you’re there you’ll have access to everything Cinemax has ever done. Just start streaming. If you’re on the go just go download the Max Go app for Android or iPhone. Same situation here where you’ll need a cable subscription from Comcast, Verizon or some other company you more than likely despise. But we have to admit that it’s the most convenient way to watch Cinemax programming on the go, if you’re already a subscriber.

No word yet on whether Cinemax will offer a standalone version of Max Go like HBO Now but we’ll let you know when the time comes.

Download Full Cinemax Episodes Online

Amazon, Google Play and iTunes are your best friends here. You can download full episodes of Strike Back or Banshee on these platforms for about three bucks and the cool part is, not only can you stream them anytime, anywhere– you can also download them and play them offline. You also won’t have to deal with buffering or internet connectivity issues if you’re streaming Cinemax using this method. Amazon seems to be the easiest way to do this:

Other, More Illegal Methods of Streaming Cinemax Shows

We know there are other options out there as well. We just urge you to use caution because a lot of these sites that claim to offer online access to Cinemax are complete scams. They’ll give you a nice virus or trick you into giving up your identity or installing a “plugin”. You’ve been warned. We recommend one of the other aforementioned methods if possible.

To recap here are the facts about watching Cinemax Online:

  • Cinemax isn’t on Netflix
  • Cinemax isn’t on Hulu
  • Watch Cinemax Online with the Max Go Website
  • Watch Cinemax on your Smartphone with the Max Go App
  • Download Full Episodes on Amazon, iTunes or Google Play
  • Don’t Pirate Cinemax Programs

I’m searching the iTunes App Store for Max Go and cannot find it. I’m already a subscriber to all the premium channels through direct tv and I have Apple TV as well but I can’t find the place there to sign in so idk what to do bc I don’t want to pay for Cinemax on my phone when I already pay $200 a month to Direct TV. Any suggestions?

if you go to maxgo.com on any device and sign in for the first time it will ask you which provider to link with to enable the app.

I’m 80 years old. Today I searched my On Demand and you had one of the great films of all time. “Cinema Paradiso”. I know you have time limits but why take ten minutes of the ending out. It is the only love story in the whole wonderful film. He hasn’t seen the woman he loved for 30 years. I have it on DVD so doesn’t matter but it is such a sweet piece it is a shame to take it out/

yep, true enough. I signed up for HBOMax and had the same problem. Said to hell with HBO and canceled. None of the other channels I subscribe to have this problem. I do not use a provider service for streaming. I add the channel via that channel website then sign into the app on my roku or firestick. HBO isn’t really set up for this.

ok i signed up for the add on and cannot find one friggin word of instructions as to how i can actually access it! I click on it in Hulu, nothing. I get another screen offering me a trial period for something i already paid for… over and over again. Live tv was mentioned – all i have to do is sign up for ANOTHER 40 dollars a month… have these people even heard of the Federal Wire Fraud Act? If I want live tv I will plug in my frigging tv set!
And Cinemax series are not on Hulu either. Really? then what the hell did Hulu just sign me up for???

If I need a “cable” subscription to view it then it is worthless to me.

Telling people not to pirate Cinemax programs is like telling someone not to eat Pizza Steve; it’s bad but people will still do it anyway as they’re desperate, what Cinemax needs is a HBO NOW like service, maybe they could incorporate it together with HBO NOW as an optional add-in, it would make sense seeing as they’re both owned by TimeWarner cable. thats my two cents.

I don’t have Cinemax, too much money for too little original content; Not as magnificent and powerful as HBO and Showtime with their quality, award winning, top class content that is worth every cent.
