Zizians
Via a press release, we learn the following: HBO Documentary Films is currently in production on a multi-part documentary series exploring the Zizians, an enigmatic group of young technologists who
garnered national attention in 2025 after law enforcement linked members of the group to a series of violent crimes across the country. Based on reporting by Tessa Stuart for Rolling Stone, the series, directed by Matthew Galkin (One Night in Idaho, Murder in the Bayou) and produced by XTR in collaboration with Rolling Stone Films, will debut on HBO and be available to stream on HBO Max.
The untitled access-driven series will trace the group’s origins and evolution, examining how it formed, operated, and attracted attention for its extreme ideology and alleged violence. It will explore the Zizians’ unusual convergence of AI safety concerns, radical veganism, and the broader cultural and technological forces that helped shape its trajectory.
The Slightest Touch

HBO Documentary Films has acquired worldwide TV and streaming rights to THE SLIGHTEST TOUCH, directed by Rachel Fleit (HBO Max’s Bama Rush). The documentary will debut on HBO and will be available to stream on HBO Max globally, including in the UK and Ireland, later this year. The film will have its world premiere at the 2026 Dublin International Film Festival.
Emma Fogarty lives with Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB) – a rare and extremely painful genetic condition that leaves her skin so fragile it blisters and tears at the slightest touch. As she turns 40, the age doctors predicted she would never reach, she takes up an offer from her long-time friend, Colin Farrell, to complete the Dublin Marathon together, with Farrell pushing her wheelchair for the final few miles. THE SLIGHTEST TOUCH follows their lives and the enduring friendship that has sustained them through the years.
Gisèle Pelicot
HBO Documentary Films is currently in production on a film about Gisèle Pelicot, directed by Oscar®-winning filmmaker Joanna Natasegara (producer of The White Helmets), produced by Abigail Anketell-Jones (The Disciple) and Brenda Coughlin (HBO’s Citizenfour), and executive produced by Oscar-winner Laura Poitras (HBO’s Citizenfour). The film will debut on HBO and will be available to stream on HBO Max.
The untitled documentary follows Gisèle Pelicot, a French woman who survived a decade of abuse after her husband drugged her and arranged for dozens of men to rape her while she was unconscious. In 2024, 51 men were convicted in what became one of France’s largest sexual violence trials. By waiving her anonymity and speaking publicly, Pelicot drew global media attention and sparked meaningful conversations about consent and accountability, inspiring widespread solidarity among survivors of sexual abuse. With exclusive and in-depth access, the documentary will accompany Gisèle on her journey as she rebuilds her life, remaining determined to speak out for survivors of sexual violence everywhere.
NY Knicks
Actor/director Ben Stiller made the announcement on Jalen Brunson and Josh Hart’s Roomates podcast that his NY KNICKS documentary is going to happen. He stated, “I’m really excited to announce that we are making a documentary about the New York Knicks for HBO with A24.” He said, “it will cover all eras of the Knicks” and had the “full cooperation of the NBA and MSG” to make it happen.
