Bill-Season-7

UPDATE: Season 7 will be True Blood’s Finale.

HBO has issued the following press release:

LOS ANGELES, July 15, 2013 – HBO has renewed the hit show TRUE BLOOD for a seventh season, it was announced today by Michael Lombardo, president, HBO Programming. New episodes of the series will debut in summer 2014, with executive producer Brian Buckner returning as showrunner.

“TRUE BLOOD remains a signature show for HBO, and a true phenomenon with our viewers,” noted Lombardo. “Thanks to Brian Buckner and his talented team, the show continues to be a thrill ride like nothing else on TV.”

Mixing romance, suspense, mystery and humor, the show takes place in a world where vampires and humans co-exist, after vampires have come out of the coffin, thanks to the invention of mass-produced synthetic blood that means they no longer need humans as a nutritional source. The series follows waitress and part-faerie Sookie Stackhouse (Anna Paquin), who can hear people’s thoughts, vampire Bill Compton (Stephen Moyer) and vampire Eric Northman (Alexander Skarsgård). Alan Ball (creator of the Emmy®-winning HBO series “Six Feet Under”) created the show, which is based on the bestselling Sookie Stackhouse novels by Charlaine Harris.

The sixth season of TRUE BLOOD, which launched June 26, has inspired critical raves, with the Boston Herald praising the show for “suspense, surprises and crackling dialogue,” while US Weekly noted that the show’s “cheeky humor and vivid imagination are still there to relish,” and the New York Post called it “bloody hilarious.” According to early data, the show is already exceeding ten million viewers per episode.

Well that settles that!  Some were speculating that this year would be True Blood’s final voyage.  But we can now confirm that True Blood Season 7 will premiere in Summer of 2014!  No hint at whether THAT will be the final season but no matter what you think of the show’s quality the show continues to be one of HBO’s biggest draws.

Which major character will die in season 6 though and not be returning for season 7?  The only way to find out is to keep watching Sundays at 9P.

I agree…….True Blood is an excellent show, however, it is not the only great show that HBO has ever come out with……….does anyone remember Game of Thrones, Band of Brothers, The Pacific, The Sopranos, The Wire, Rome (my second all time favorite show)……the list goes on and on…….simply put, I believe that premium cable channels have by and far the best tv shows around. Showtime also has many excellent shows like Dexter (my all time favorite show), Californication, Shameless, Tudors, etc……….not to be outdone, Starz has come a long with shows like Spartacus (albeit, quite possibly the most extreme male oriented soap opera of all time), and now Black Sails. Cinemax also has good shows such as Banshee (one bad ass show, and quite possibly the best show that most people don’t know about) and Strike Back.

the show is more than just about sex its about fantasy and romance and adventure and suspense but if your to narrow minded to see the big picture than there is no wonder why you dont seem to like it they should be making at least another season or to its captivating and takes you to a whole new world its an absolutely amazing show

It is not porn. there are lots of episodes that have no sex in them. I love true blood and I’m happy they are having a 7th season.

Everybody gets put off by season 1, yeah there’s a lot a sex in season 1 but it dies down in other series, sex plays a big part because vampires are about sex and lust, amongst other things too but you’d have to find that out for yourselves, the story line gets so addictive and well thought out, season 7 personally, I reckon it’ll come as a big surprise to everyone, a big character will die which I don’t think will be Bill, too many people would be too satisfied with that.

Karmapolice February 12, 2014 - 5:02 pm

Lol if you hate the show so much why are you commenting on it..isn’t that called trolling? If you think that’s porn, maybe you should slow it down and go watch Mary Poppins? Do I detect a bible being thumped on? HBOs a little too scandalous for you, just do everyone a favor and go watch Nick Jr…thanks!

Highly doubtful…….if I am not mistaken, Game of Thrones is their Micheal Jordan tv series and True Blood is their Scottie Pippen…….both are excellent shows by their own right, however, I am pretty sure that Game of Thrones has a much larger fan base. Furthermore, HBO shows no end in sight of coming up with high quality tv shows. However, I am sure that they are feeling the pressure as they used to be the only game in town with regards to tv series on premium cable. Now they have other traditional premium cable channels such as Showtime (Dexter, Homeland,Tudors, Californication, Shameless, etc), Starz (Spartacus, Black Sails), Cinemax (Banshee, Strikeback) and basic cable channels such as FX (Sons of Anarchy), AMC (Mad Men, Breaking Bad, Walking Dead) as well as Net Flix (Orange is the New Black, House of Cards) and debuting now is Amazon (Bosch, and several other shows) to compete with, and many of them are wiping the floor with HBO shows (i.e. Dexter, Homeland, Breaking Bad, Mad Men, Walking Dead, Sons of Anarchy, and even the PBS show Downton Abbey. The competition is more fierce now than it was in the past.

I want True Blood to continue past season 7, there are still a lot of things they need to finish up and a lot of different directions they could take the show. It is the only reason I bother with HBO.

Season 6 was good in that it had variety in the storylines and was filmed in lots of locations. I didn’t particularly like the previous season which seemed to be shot in the ‘vampire headquarters’ all the time. Hopefully Bill’s character will go back to being ‘good’ Bill and Eric hasn’t died….

Love this show!! SOOO upset about finale!!! I’ve been watching since it started n let me tell ya!!! Season 6 wasn’t my favorite by far. If Eric, really met the true death, then so has the entire show for me. I’m a HUGE fan of this show n he fact that they could kill off one of the main, oldest, and by far most entertaining characters. I truly think Eric is the Biggest assets to this show. I’d rather them have killed Bill over Eric. I love Bill, but after season 6’s ordeal with him n Sookie ( not to mention the obvious). I’d be ok without Bill! But ERIC????COME ON!!!!!! Ill watch to see if he’s truly met the “true death” and if he has?? Then the show has met true death with me….. I’m SOOO sad!!! :-( #TEAM#ERIC#ALLTHEWAY!!!!!!!!!

Well since Stephen and Anna are married of course Alex was leaving. Especially since there are a bunch of movie roles that came and are still coming for the 61/2ft. blond haired blue eyed Alex. Check out Battleship and a few others.

Remember Pam went after him so I don’t think that is the case at all, he can’t die so soon before season 7’s out, but I do believe he may meet his true death in his own Eric Viking way. Something not to be missed, I hope he doesn’t die but I think if anybody big would die it would be him later on in season 7.
