True-Blood-season-7-300x200Longtime showrunner Alan Ball may be leaving True Blood for season 6 but he didn’t exit without letting a few things slip.  Most recently the producer told TV Guide that the next season will be shortened to 10 episodes (down from the usual 12):

“moving production to January to accommodate [Anna’s pregnancy],” but there will also “only be 10 shows next season, partly because of Anna and partly because of the economics.”

We’re not sure what “the economics” are other than steady (high) ratings and lucrative DVD/Blu-Ray sales season after season.  More than likely is that many of the actors on the show getting antsy about moving on to other projects.

Does this mean that True Blood season 6 will be the show’s last? Some seem to think so. But here at HBO Watch, we’re eternal optimists and can’t understand why HBO would give up the cash cow just yet.

True Blood season 6 will premiere in Spring/Summer 2013. As for True Blood season 7? We’ll just have to wait. And we all know: Waiting Sucks.

Please don’t cut the show atleast not for a few years. This programme is becoming just as good as buffy and that is or was a good progamme to watch. True blood is something that the vampire diaries or even the twilight saga hasn’t got. And it would be a shame to watch it end as now the storyline is getting better than ever and I am sure most watchers have become even more eye glued to the progamme when its on you don’t want to miss a second of it, as things keep on happening that no one expects so please don’t cut or end the programme.

In season 5 of True Blood the show was getting quite weird, like what happened with Bill at the very end. It’s almost too weird for me to watch the next season, “almost” being the key word. Waiting for season 6!!

I will be honest! The reason why I have HBO is because of True Blood. HBO has been slipping, I have had HBO for as long as can remember, but I also have showtime and I watch it more. 12 Episodes for this show is not enough!!!! Much less 10 episodes. I will no longer get HBO after season 6.

Not only does it take forever for a new season to start, but now it’s being cut short? I really love this show, but I must admit that I tend to forget about it here and there because of how long it takes for the new season. Not to mention, The Walking Dead owns tv now haha…. kick ass show.

I’m not sure if this was news at the time this was wrote, but he (Alan Ball) also has another show that’s about to premiere on Cinemax. I think you hit the head on the nail with people wanting to move on to other projects so they don’t get tied to the TV series for the rest of their career.
