k, sort of. The HBO/BBC comedy, which had a seven episode run in Feb/March 2012, offers more antics in 2013.
Here is the catch to that good news. What makes it onscreen is only a special installment wrapping up the series. The comedy did not make the cut, evidently, for a full Season Two order. Of course, you don’t have to worry about the comedic trio involved: Gervais has a movie or two, Merchant created and stars in HBO’s HELLO LADIES coming later this year and as for Davis…well…there are to be more Star Wars movies.
So, what fans will get is a special, meaning an episode longer than the usual 30 minutes and likely a ton of celebrity cameos. Season One saw appearances by the likes of Johnny Depp, Liam Neeson, Helena Bonham Carter, Steve Carrell, Cat Deeley and Sting. As this mockumentary winds up who will make a surprise appearance and when will this special air? I think this ship has sailed guys. Though luckily Ricky Gervais, Stephen Merchant and Wickett.. I mean Warwick Davis are putting out stuff for HBO still. You’ll get more of the same laughs.

Just heard the news. HORRIBLE! This show was absolutely hysterical in my opinion. Sure Ricky and Stephen may need to tone down their on-screen appearances, but Warwick Davis did a great job with this one. Shame it won’t get another season.
Ya it was good. I really saw a bit of David Brent (Ricky) in Warwick’s character. Glad it wasn’t cancelled outright. Will watch this special!
This quirky little (no pun intended) comedy surprised me. I really liked the episode with Liam Neeson. That was some funny stuff. I’ll be sure to catch the special whenever it airs.
I actually liked this series. Not sure if I wanted six seasons of it ala Curb but it was pretty funny. Mostly because of the stars that came on to make fools of themselves. David will be posting a first season review here soon as we’ve just received it early.
