There she is! We haven’t seen Issa Rae, except for a few stints in A BLACK LADY SKETCH SHOW, since October of 2018 but she and Yvonne Orji and the rest of INSECURE are back on the schedule with another season beginning Sunday, April 12 at 10:00pm.
Returning for a ten-episode season the show follows our favorite characters as they evaluate their relationships, both new and old, in an effort to figure out who and what comes with them in this next phase of their lives. Season four follows the main characters in the aftermath of the decisions they made in the last season. If you recall the intent was to give Issa a drama-free 30th birthday that didn’t quite pan out that way. On the big day, Molly shows up at Issa’s to pick her up. Molly blindfolds her and walks her to a park for the party. If you remember they run into Lawrence while they’re there. They both hit it off for the first time in a long while. Issa feeling good is looking forward to her 30’s as the season ended. The one with the negative attitude is Molly (Orji’s character). She is so negative she just burns bridges everywhere she goes and Issa tells her so. She even rebuffed Nathan so, is she satisfied being alone or what? Now moving into Season Four Issa pursues her passion project of the big block party she has been planning for a while. Molly navigates a real relationship for the first time, Lawrence figures out what leveling-up means for him, and we see the effect of Tiffany’s new baby on the dynamic of the friend group. Along the way, we’ll see these characters evaluating relationships, both new and old.
