The Newsroom Season 2 on DVD & Blu-Ray Release Date & Review

We just received our pre-release copy of The Newsroom on DVD! Check it out:

This is the DVD version but all of the below is still true, minus the digital download stuff.  To be honest we’d recommend picking up the Blu-Ray edition because you’ll not only get better quality picture and sound you’ll also get the digital versions to keep and cherish on the go.  Heck you could even give the digital version to a friend!  Order that here if you’re interested.  The set is out NOVEMBER 4th, the same day as The Sopranos Complete Series on Blu-Ray so get your wallets ready!  This holiday is going to be a big one for HBO on DVD and Blu-Ray.

We just learned of The Newsroom season 3 and it’s final release window. But before all that crying and the goodbyes you should probably go back and relive The Newsroom season 2 on DVD and Blu-Ray right?!

The date, you ask?  Novemeber 4th is when the discs will be available.  But you can pre-order them here to make sure you get them in time. “Just in time to catch up..” HBO promises. We hope you can binge these episodes because that November window for The Newsroom season 3 is getting tight here.

In Season 2 of The Newsroom, it’s a year later, and in the days leading up to Election Night 2012, the News Night staff is being prepared to give depositions in a wrongful termination lawsuit filed by a staff member alleged to have doctored a report about a suspicious U.S. Drone strike. As details about the suit’s origin and aftermath emerge, the team continues its quixotic mission to “do the news well” in the face of corporate and commercial obstacles, and their own personal entanglements. While the series is set at a fictional network, news stories covered in the News Night cablecast are often actual past events, or are inspired by them. The Newsroom offers viewers an opportunity to return to and relive the news events that made headlines as they watch it unfold for the show’s characters, who race to put together the broadcast. Flashing back to earlier events from August 2011 to November 2012, the new season touches on the administration’s anti-terrorism policy, Occupy Wall Street, Troy Davis, Trayvon Martin, Benghazi and, of course, the primaries and general election.
