I wish everyone could understand the strong pull of this work. Only those of us you have played the game through can appreciate THE LAST OF US at its deepest level. All the emotions that came to the surface the first time the plot thread was experienced all resurface with this clip. Man, and this clip is just a Teaser.

But those you have not dropped into that world yet, the world of Fireflies, Clickers and Cordyceps infections, I hope you are still drawn into the action and emotional heft of this first big look at THE LAST OF US.

Please, take in the Teaser –

Yes, there have been stories across a post-apocalyptic landscape before but this particular one comes from Craig Mazin (CHERNOBYL) and Neil Druckman, the sole writer and co-director of the original source material. With actors Pedro Pascal & Ellie look-alike (or close enough) Bella Ramsey involved, the work looks solid from top to bottom.  There will be plenty to report as this series moved forward and possibly becomes HBO’s next big epic. I sure hope so, do you?

Oh, a couple of last fun facts before we leave you to watch it again and perhaps even again. The song we hear is “Alone and Forsaken” by Hank Williams Sr.thatTheLastOfUs-Teaser-300x220 sets a somber tone, but more importantly, that song was on a cassette tape Ellie gives Joel in the game. Little facts like that should be hidden throughout the series no doubt.

The other fact – September 26 is a significant date in the plotline as the Cordyceps Outbreak unleashed on that date, according to the game. So, it only makes logical sense that something about the series would have dropped today.

Check back with us for more as it becomes available and prepare yourselves for THE LAST OF US.

Such a fantastic trailer! Although I am going to take some convincing that Bella Ramsey was the right choice for Ellie…

Well, her appearance doesn’t quite lock in as exact, though we hope she is accomplished enough to pull off Ellie. With that strong, prominent jawline she certainly doesn’t have the softer, rounded face of the game’s Ellie. The stature and the eyes are the biggest similarities.

The videogame’s Ellie was soft and afraid and grew into the tough fighter she had to become in order to survive. With Bella Ramsey’s visage, the character already looks like she is hardened. It all deepens on how Ramsey emotionally plays the character that will lock it in for me.
