TheLeftovers_titleThere are very little details this far removed from the launch of the third and final season of THE LEFTOVERS, but note that the end is nigh! Here to confirm that this isn’t just a vicious rumor spread by Meg Abbot to crush our hopes here are two guys who know the truth. Here is a Special Message

Also here is documentation.

HBO has confirmed that THE LEFTOVERS will return for its third and final season of eight episodes in April 2017. Created by Damon Lindelof and Tom Perrotta, the Peabody Award-winning drama series focuses on the ways ordinary people react to inexplicable events, following the lives that were forever changed when 140 million people inexplicably vanished from the face of the earth.

How could we ever forget The Sudden Departure, and many more things like The Guilty Remnant, Mapleton, Jarden, “lens theory,” Kevin Garvey Sr., Patti Levin and “High Hopes” and more? Oh, and now we eagerly wait for Australia. As a previous post singled out, something mighty important is going down in the Land Down Under. Is it where all the answers lie? Hopefully, we will be satisfied with the results because the creators swore we’d never get all the answers. Man, it is going to be a long wait.

The cast of season three includes Justin Theroux, Carrie Coon, Amy Brenneman, Kevin Carroll, Christopher Eccleston, Scott Glenn, Lindsay Duncan, Regina King, Jovan Adepo, Janel Moloney, Margaret Qualley, Jasmin Savoy-Brown, Liv Tyler and Chris Zylka. Filmed on location in Texas and Australia, season three is executive produced by Damon Lindelof, Tom Perrotta, Mimi Leder, Tom Spezialy, Gene Kelly, Peter Berg and Sarah Aubrey; Lindelof serves as showrunner. THE LEFTOVERS is produced for HBO by White Rabbit in association with Warner Bros. Television.

It is just cruel that that is all we get for now.  That and the opportunity to re-watch Season One & Two all over again on HBONow/Go. Lest we forget.

Going to be incredible. Rewatching the series (again) right now. Season two is an absolute delight.

A good idea. I wish I had the time to do so. We will be reviewing it for sure when it returns.
