TASK_photoSlowly chiseling away at filming its screenplay has been the crime drama from Brad Ingelsby known as TASK. The work was born shortly after Ingelsby achieved paise for the acclaimed MARE OF EASTTOWN that he wrote and produced for HBO. Since then he has signed a development deal with the network and TASK got the green light. The limited series takes place in the same locale as the Kate Winslet piece in Southeastern Pennsylvania. In it, FBI Agent Tom (Mark Ruffalo of HBO’s I KNOW THIS MUCH IS TRUE) leads a task force in a Philadelphia suburb to put an end to a string of drug-house robberies led by an unsuspecting family man.

A few clips from TASK have been seen in larger Coming Soon videos but it sure seems like it has taken a long time to even get to this point.  I know, I know, we don’t want to rush quality, but it has been filming all year and has got to be ready to show soon, right? We will see TASK on HBO and Max sometime in 2025, perhaps in the Q1, with the following cast joining Ruffalo: Tom Pelphrey (HBO’s BANSHEE), Emilia Jones (Locke & Key), Martha Plimpton (HBO’s THE REGIME), Mireille Enos (HBO’s BIG LOVE) Thuso Mbedu (Mufasa, The Lion King), Raúl Castillo (HBO’s LOOKING), Jamie McShane (Wednesday), Sam Keeley (Kin), Fabien Frankel (HOUSE OF THE DRAGON’s Criston Cole), and Alison Oliver (Saltburn).

Here is what has been seen looped a couple of times –

Francesca Orsi, EVP Programming, Head of HBO Drama Series and Films quote: “We are absolutely thrilled to once again join forces with Brad Ingelsby, the brilliant auteur behind ‘Mare of Easttown.’ Brad’s boundless People_BradInglesby-300x210creativity and unrivaled ability to captivate audiences are nothing short of inspiring, and we cannot be more excited to embark on another journey together. When the opportunity arose to partner with Mark on another series, we all jumped at the chance to witness him once again breathe great humanity into a new role. We are also honored to collaborate with Jeremiah, an unparalleled director whose deep understanding of visual storytelling will only elevate this project to new heights. The convergence of these talents is so exciting, and we cannot wait to share this story with the world.”

More marketing should ramp up soon. We will be on the lookout for it.
