As we well know Sarah Jessica Parker is returning to HBO for the first time after wrapping up SEX AND THE CITY in 2004. She does so with DIVORCE sometime late in 2016. HBOWatch first reported on the pilot episode in December of last year and stated the pilot was filming this March then confirmed it was going to series in April. Here is the first released picture of SJP’s character as the series went into production. In fact, it has been reported that the show has been filming in the White Plains area of New York.
It is not clear at this time of all the details surrounding the show including when it will air in 2016, but we suspect it in the latter half. All HBO has to say about it at this time is the following:
DIVORCE: The story of a very, very long divorce. Sarah Jessica Parker serves as an executive producer and stars as Frances, a woman who suddenly begins to reassess her life and her marriage, and finds that making a clean break and a fresh start is harder than she thought. Other series regulars include Thomas Haden Church, Molly Shannon, Talia Balsam and Tracy Letts. Created by Sharon Horgan. Executive produced by Horgan, Paul Simms, Sarah Jessica Parker, Alison Benson and Aaron Kaplan. The comedy series is currently in production in New York.
So, from that we also don’t know of how many episodes are to be shot. But, two things we do know for sure are that Sarah J. will once again be dressing sharp as SJP has always had a strong fashion sense and that we are looking forward to her return. She started on HBO looking for a BIG relationship while having fun in the Big Apple and now she is looking for a way out of a failed one. We will keep you informed.
