As you can see, there is no actual premiere date set, but it will spool out its gripping tale into October with a total of seven episodes. HBO is proud to have another Delaware County, PA tale from Ingelsby make it to the screen. Casey Bloys recently stated, “I’m excited to kick off the fall with a compelling new series from Brad Inglesby, the creator behind HBO crime drama, ‘Mare of Easttown,’ premiering in September. “‘Task’ is a riveting crime story set on the outskirts of Philadelphia that follows an FBI task force charged with putting an end to a recent string of armed robberies. Mark Ruffalo and Tom Pelphrey lead a phenomenal cast.”
Below is a Teaser that highlights the team and a hint of the criminal they are up against in this case.
One intriguing element to note is that the viewer gets to know the perpetrator of the crimes alongside the task force out to get him. Ingelsby remarked, “What always interested me about these stories is trying to portray them with a lot of empathy, a lot of humanity, to really get into the emotional ties of the working-class people, and to portray them with courage and honor. That’s really my goal is to write these characters with layers and complexity that we don’t often get to see.”
He successfully did it with Kate Winslet and others for his last drama set in the Philadelphia suburbs, and returns once again to show heroes of the region as they take on the criminal element that affects their lives and the lives of all in their neighborhood.
Are you going to set your sights on TASK this fall?
