Looks like Alcide’s papa will be sticking around for a while!

Deadline is reporting that veteran actor Robert Patrick has officially signed on as series regular for the upcoming 6th season of True Blood. Patrick first came on the scene as werewolf Alcide’s backwoods dad last season, while all of the fae/Russel/wolf pack drama was unfolding.

What do you think about this news? Personally, I wasn’t really invested in the story arc involving Alcide’s dad last season; truth be told I was hoping Alcide would get a fresh new plot to sink his teeth into next year. Are you even interested in learning more about Alcide’s father and their relationship with each other?

Oh boy, another series regular. I can’t keep up with everyone anymore! I love Robert Patrick, so I hope that it is a strong storyline and not just some kind of filler, like the fairy storyline. I hope TB starts to connect everyone to each other, so they can end the series on a high note in the next year or two

Truthfully, I wasn’t even interested in adding Alcide into the storyline let alone his family and I’m a werewolf kind of guy.
I like Robert Patrick though.

Im a long time True Blood fan but I’m with you here. Love the actor but the new characters need to stop. Lets set the scene here in season 6 with a ton of emotion and awesomeness. Then wrap things up in 2014 with a series finale of 8 eps or something. Fingers crossed they go back to their roots.

Let’s hope so. TB started to lose it’s shine during Season 4, and IMO really dropped the ball Season 5.
