The latest NFL season is about to conclude with Super Bowl LVI which pits the AFC champs the, Cincinnati Bengals butting heads against the NFC champs, the Los Angeles Rams. But, around here we’re looking ahead to the training season of the 2022 NFL season. We are looking ahead to the next round of HBO Sports’ HARD KNOCKS.
Each year we wait to see which teams shakedown to be the eligible teams viable to the camera scrutiny from HBO & NFL cameras heading into their next season of play. There is, as fans of this series well know, a list of criteria each team must meet to be eligible for the additional attention come Fall. Teams that have made the playoff in the past two seasons, any team searching for a head coach or has a first-year head coach and any team featured in the last decade are safe, leaving only three teams who are not. They are – the CAROLINA PANTHERS, the DETROIT LIONS and the NEW YORK JETS.
The Carolina Panthers are an NFC South team based in Charlotte, North Carolina. Headquartered in Bank of America Stadium in Uptown Charlotte, the stadium also serves as the team’s home field. The team hosts its annual training camp at Wofford College in Spartanburg, South Carolina. Owner – David Tepper; Head Coach – Matt Rhule; Quarterbacks – #14 Sam Darnold & #6 P. J. Walker; finished season – 5 wins, 12 loses.
The Detroit Lions are an NFC North team based in Detroit, Michigan. Headquartered in Allen Park MI, with Ford Field in downtown Detroit as its home field. The team’s training camp is at a new facility in Allen Park Michigan at their HQ. Owner – Sheila Ford Hamp; Head Coach – Dan Campbell; Quarterback – #16 Jared Goff; finished season – 3 wins, 13 loses, 1 tie.
The New York Jets are an AFC East team based in New York City, New York, but are headquartered & play in New Jersey. Business is conducted out of the Atlantic Health Jets Training Center in Florham Park, New Jersey. The Jets play their home games at MetLife Stadium (shared with the New York Giants) in East Rutherford, New Jersey, 5 miles west of NYC. Training is at Atlantic Health. Owner – Woody & Christopher Johnson; Head Coach – Robert Saleh; Quarterback – #2 Zach Wilson; finished season – 4 wins, 13 loses.

Lions finished 3-13-1. And spellcheck names my dude cmon.
Its gotta be the JETS BABY! J-E-T-S JETS JETS JET!!!
It is 3 for the JETS; two each for the PANTHERS and LIONS. Don’t forget that one of these teams could also be targeted for HARD KNOCKS: IN SEASON if it is happening this Fall.
Put the Lions in. Energetic HC in Dan Campbell. RB Williams is extremely entertaining. New culture the team has bought into like never before and the potential of Detroit to draft Malik Willis at #2. I think NFL fans would be intrigued to see what Campbell would say and do next. When will HBO make their decision?
Here is good sound reasoning for the LIONS getting the scrutiny.
It has always been a bit inconsistent when the lucky NFL team is chosen. It has been announced as early as April and as late as July. We will be there for our 12th season of coverage.
Cincinnati Bengals what a show it would be
Not this season.
I VOTE, Carolina Panthers, That RB, Darius Bradwell who just signed from LA Chargers is going to make some major noise. He’s hungry and with the Panthers trading McCaffrey, he been working and waiting for this opportunity all his life. Oh, Yeah he was featured on the show last season with the Chargers. This is a chance for the show to compare his transformation from last season’s “HardKnocks” film. The show motivated him for Sure !!!!! #KeepWinning
Yes, that would be an interesting angle to take to the new season wouldn’t it? They’ve got a big plotline handed to them by following Bradwell’s transition from one team to the other. Smart call, Kurk.
J-E-T-S!!! Would love to see behind the scenes with coach Saleh and his coaching style
Hey, shouldn’t they be the NJ Jets?? Just sayin’
Jets, they need some motivation!!
Would scrutiny from Hard Knocks be the thing to motivate them?
That’s one for the LIONS and one for the PANTHERS, both declawed this past season. Anyone else? How about a vote for the JETS, perhaps?
Carolina
Give me MCDC and the knee cap biting Lions!!
