Emily Mortimer, star of the new Martin Scorsese movie, Hugo says that HBO’s new Aaron Sorkin penned series ‘More As This Story Develops’ is going to be “amazing”.
In a recent interview she says of her new character, news producer Mackenzie McHale: “She’s supposedly charismatic – I hope I can be charismatic enough to match the character description.”
Jeff Daniels is set to star in the show and will play the main news anchor and male lead, Will McCallister. Emily said this about that character: “He plays the cantankerous, grumpy but brilliant news anchor,” confirmed Mortimer. “We are in this on-again, off-again romance.”
At first, Mortimer was hesitant to take on the role explaining: “It’s amazing getting to say Sorkin’s words, but it’s also terrifying. I’ve always got my head buried in a script, trying to learn his lines! It starts filming in a week and I’ve got more to say than I’ve ever had to say in anything before.”
Aaron Sorkin is the critically acclaimed writer responsible for The West Wing with an Academy Award for penning The Social Network.
The actress joked that the new show will include the Sorkin staple of “cool chit-chat while walking down endless corridors”.
“I’m practicing my corridor walking,” she laughed.
