American-Gods-HBO-Latest-DetailsAll has been quiet on the American Gods front for some time now. HBO itself has not commented on the series at all while Neil Gaiman has periodically given updates on the script. From what we can tell the project is still moving forward and Gaiman has been working hard on getting the script right for the premium cable network we all love.

The latest comes from the Cambridge International Student Film Festival last month where Neil took control of the festival’s official Twitter account to dish out a few details about the upcoming series:

-The premiere episode of American Gods will be a lot like the opening chapters of the book, but will also contain new elements and details.

-The first two seasons of the show will consist of the book. By then Gaiman hopes to have the American Gods sequel novel written and headed for release.

-American Gods will debut this year if Gaiman can get the pilot script done in time to HBO’s satisfaction.

So there you have it, American Gods readers! Despite the lack of official communication on HBO’s end we think it’s almost safe to say that this project will happen.. eventually.  Again, nothing is official but we can’t help but report on things that the author is saying about a potential HBO series, can we?

We’ll relay any information we get when we have it

I can’t decide if this is going to be wonderful or disastrous…on the one hand, GoT. On the other, True Blood.

So Neil still has some hope. Which is really good. HBO being silent, his wife serenading some Bostonian-murdering Chechens – I have family in Watertown, and family members in Chechen wars 1 and 1.1… – I wish him the best. As for HBO American Gods, I do have my own imaginashuns, thank you very much. Wait, it’s supposed to be Kthxbai.

Is the image in this update promo art for the show? Or an alternate book cover? (Please answer!)

Nope. Nothing from the show is official yet. HBO hasn’t even really commented on it. That is just an alternate book cover we found floating around online. Sorry!

HBO GO!

Reply

They won’t sell HBO Go memberships to people who don’t buy an HBO subscription for tv. Which is basically writting off the under-30 demo. We aren’t going to get cable. We are happy to buy shows legally online if you sell them to us, but we aren’t going to buy cable.

Reply
ChickLikeMe April 17, 2013 - 8:39 pm

It’s not that they don’t want to sell you HBO GO, I’m sure they’d love to, it’s that they have deals with cable companies who know people would cancel their subscriptions if they could just go online and watch it.

Why? The Baha’i are evil. their goal is a New World Order where nation states are abolished.

It’s also thanks to the Baha’i that multiculturalism exists and mass infiltration by muslims happen.

The one that knows the Baha’i Prophet Baha’u’llah claimed to be the second coming of Isa (muslim jesus)

I know all about their progressive revelation, NWO, Unity in Diversity, world police plans

I have done in depth research on them.

Alex Jones?

Van Grungy April 17, 2013 - 6:33 pm

Actually, Jones and his ilk hold deep belief in the JOO conspiracy.

I was banned for bringing a different group of worldwide anti-nation state ideologues to his attention as was banned.

It always made no sense to me that there is any benefit for Jews to spread Jew hating muslims around the world.. So I learned which group of people are the spiritual force in making the NWO happen.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_world_order_%28Bah%C3%A1%27%C3%AD%29

Principles
Some of the principles outlined in the New world order include:

universal peace;
the unity of religion;
the setting up a world government which could enact laws required to satisfy the needs of all people;
an elected world parliament;
a binding world tribunal;
a world police force;
a universal bill of human rights;
the universal right to education;
the setting up of an auxiliary universal language;
the continued diversity of culture;
a system of world commerce through the establishment of an equitable economic system where the economic security of the individual is assured;[2][3]
elimination of extremes of wealth and poverty.

It will take a world police to enforce this idiotic stupidity that is based on the ideas and prophecies of the
Baha’i to rule the world.

Ask yourself.. Why is Maurice Strong a devout Baha’i?

Painter O'Phallus April 17, 2013 - 7:05 pm

You’ve provided no objective evidence for the existence of New World Order, nor have you provided any objective evidence that there is a “spiritual force” behind New World Order, or that it is necessary for New World Order to a have a “spiritual force” to exist.

Also, you have provided no objective evidence that Maurice Strong is Baha’i, devout or otherwise. Searches in Google, Bing, Yahoo, and Dogpile return no objective information on the matter, only links to conspiracy websites that deal in innuendo, subjectivity, misinformation, disinformation, and lies.There exists no objective evidence for Maurice Strong being Baha’i. And the final question of your post is demonstrative of the logical fallacy termed begging the question.

Multiple times in your post you committed the logical fallacy known as ipse dixit, or bare assertion fallacy.

Remember, it is incumbent upon you to provide an argument founded in objectivity, logic and reason.

They want a global spiritual and political landscape that is peaceful, and unified. No different to many other new religions and sects. They are as superstitious and ridiculous as any other faith… Much like yours, actually! You have an irrational, illogical faith in a conspiracy that has been contrived out of nothing. You are a complete and utter idiot! Unbelievable that someone can be so blinkered by the paranoid ramblings of lunatics sitting at a compute with no academic training whatsoever. It would be hilarious, if it wasn’t so concerning…

Turning Point For All Nations

Van Grungy April 18, 2013 - 4:46 am

There is no objective evidence of Maurice Strong having any religion, it seems…

But, being the architect of the Earth Charter and his love of world governance shows that he has a very ‘strong’ interest in the same causes that the Baha’i do.

I’m not posting to change your mind… but maybe you could take your blinders off.

Religion: Baha’i
Monday, July 20, 1931
To the International Congress of Religion at the Chicago World’s Fair in 1893 went one Ibrahim George Khayru’llah to spread Baha’i in the U. S. Founder Baha’u’llah had died the year before and his son Abdu’1-Baha (servant of Baha) had become Expounder & Promoter. Born in 1844 on the very day when the Bab was making his great prediction, Abdu’1-Baha began expounding and promoting late in life, but under his able leadership the faith gained world following. In 1912 he followed Ibrahim Khayru’llah to the U. S., spoke in churches, synagogs, D. A. R. meetings, visited the late William Jennings Bryan who pontificated: “The Baha’i movement is the only power able to revive the Islamic world.” Abdu’1-Baha, however, saw the movement serving a wider world. For Jews it could fulfill Old Testament and Talmudic prophecies; for Christians the visions of the Apocalypse; for Mohammedans the Redeemer, Imam-Mahdi.

Thom October 1, 2013 - 9:46 am

You should listen to what Painter says – he’s correct that you’ve made some serious failures in logic. To remedy this, you will need to remove your pre-conceived notions of what this so-called NWO is, and what it purports to achieve. Moreover, you may want to stop using racist, anti-semitic innuendo. You, and those like you, hide their racism behind such theories – yet make themselves out to be even more idiotic. Alternatively, maybe try schooling, and brush up on your critical analysis skills. High school is a start, or a cheap public university? You might learn what evidence, logic and reason actually mean. Otherwise, I fear for your sanity, and those conspiracists like you. Ultimately, the burden of proof lies with those making such wild and ridiculous claims. Until there is proof, the theory is merely innuendo and contrivance.

I’m curious as to how involved the pilot would be, if Neil hasn’t yet finished an HBO-approved version. The year is already a third of the way through — casting, filming, editing, special effects? I guess someone would be working time and a half.

A channel never reveals much details about a project in development before it`s given a green light going into pilot-production or series-production. And no, it`s not safe to say that this project will happen, it can of course, but not a safe bet.

The requirements is such a big scale thing right now, and i dont think we will see anything official about the project before the end of the year.
