Michael Imperioli Checks into a WHITE LOTUS Resort!

Okay, okay. To be more accurate a character played by Michael Imperioli will check into a White Lotus resort when the series returns. We already know that the Mike White show, THE WHITE LOTUS, was renewed for a second season and we already know that the sophomore season is to take place in a whole new locale from the Hawaii-set premiere season and that new vacationers and resort staff would be populating the next iteration.

Imperioli will play Dominic Di Grasso, a man traveling with his elderly father and recent college-graduate son.

But, we sure as hell didn’t expect Imperioli, of all people, to earn a role. I don’t know, it just doesn’t seem his sort of thing. Then again, he is an actor out to diversify. Of course, around here we will forever see him as Christopher Moltisanti from the classic THE SOPRANOS and the tie-in movie THE MANY SAINTS OF NEWARK. There are plenty of other works like Blue BloodsHawaii Five-0, and Project Blue Book but even they don’t have the tone and humor of White’s work. He has a current Hulu work filming called This Fool. Mr. I. could just have been at the right place at the right time to be asked to sign up because he is in the halls of HBO developing something so perhaps he and White just bumped into each other?

(Come to think of it, as a quick side note, I don’t know if I mentioned that Michael I. alongside BARRY’s Alec Berg are crafting a potential series that Imperioli is attached to star in about him being a practicing Buddhist.)

Anyway, just totally cool and unexpected casting. Hell, if you look at the caption at right you’ll see that Imperioli’s character has started to be defined. There is also a very strong possibility that Jennifer Coolidge and her Season One character, Tanya McQuoid, could also be on the guestlist again. We will pass on more about THE WHITE LOTUS as we get it. Ah, to get away to a COVID-free White Lotus resort about now, right?
