Straight from a press release comes surprising news. If HBO Max and Lisa Kudrow can come back, so can Larry David. He won’t, however, return as the faux Larry David of CURB YOUR ENTHUSIASM fame but in something brand new and unexpected.
Aiding David in this venture is also rather unexpected. Higher Ground Productions is the producing body behind the work, and if you are not familiar with it, it is the production company founded in 2018 by former United States President Barack Obama and former First Lady Michelle Obama. They wanted to acknowledge the 250th anniversary of the United States in 2026 in a special way. The log line for this work sums it up perfectly.

…But then Larry David called.
Who knows, perhaps he always saw himself as George Washington? I mean, in Season 8, he saw himself as the Statue of Liberty, and in Season 9, he was in revolutionary mode, so any famous American, especially the Founding Fathers, should be game.
