HBO’s big Sunday night dramatic series for the next eight weeks begins on August 11 (9:00-10:00 pm). So, if you’ve been following the series, launching its third season now you might want to catch up on what has been going down. With its hi-jinks in high-end finance and rocky relationships, many have likened this series to HBO’s SUCCESSION, which is still curated on the HBO Hub of Max. Added to the mix and equally discussed by many, is the fact that Kit Harington (GAME OF THRONES) has joined the series this time around.
If you recall back to the premiere season we are following a class of young recent grads gaining entry to the fictional investment bank Pierpoint & Co. as interns. They all jockey for permanent positions in the intense, fast-paced, and had-lived life within the firm. The series reflects real-life scenarios so Season Two saw the team and their firm struggle to revitalize in a post-Covid world.
Each member does their individual best to make themselves a vital part of the team amid layoffs. One such player is Harper Stern (Myha’la Herrold), an underrated and reckless trader, out to make her move. One risky gamble last season though, put her in a vulnerable spot. The whole story of INDUSTRY began with her entry onto the scene. Now, she has pushed her luck and has been fired. She is out of Pierpoint & Co. but not out of the game. Herrold’s character is very much so still in the series; fresh meat seems to be the target as Harington’s Sir Henry Muck comes into view. In season three, as Pierpoint looks to the future and takes a big bet on ethical investing, Yasmin (Marisa Abela), Robert (Harry Lawtey), and Eric (Ken Leung) find themselves front and center in the splashy IPO of Lumi, a green tech energy company led by Sir Henry Muck (Kit Harington), in a story that runs all the way to the very top of finance, media, and government. Since leaving Pierpoint, Harper (Myha’la) is eager to get back into the addictive thrill of finance and finds an unlikely partner in FutureDawn portfolio manager Petra Koenig (Sarah Goldberg).
