HBO Max only has two Same-Day premieres left this year. Next up is King Richard, which is basically the origin story of tennis greats Serena & Venus Williams. Stellar sports movies only come along every so often. Does this one join the ranks of Chariots of Fire, Field of Dreams, Hoosiers and Miracle or not? You won’t know until you watch it. King Richard is the latest WarnerMedia Same-Day Premiere. The movie opens in available cinemas on Friday, November 19, 2021 and uploads to HBO Max the same day. The only catch is the movie appears for a limited time on the ad-free option of the streaming service. It runs through December 19, 2021. You might say that there is another catch; how do I watch this flick in the safety of my own home? Answer – you’ll need to subscribe to HBO Max. That’s right, check out the latest deals and subscribe now. Try Max Now

Where to Stream “King Richard” Online

There was once a time when HBO didn’t have a streaming service of its own. But today we have HBO Max, one of the most advanced streaming services on the market that not only gives you access to HBO’s entire catalog from the past years, but adds new movies, series, and specials of its own plus an endless stream of entertainment options from other properties in the Warner family, like TCM, TBS, TNT, Cartoon Network and the  DC Universe. The best way to watch King Richard and more online is to grab an HBOMax subscription for about fifteen bucks a month, or you can sign up for six months and get a better deal. The Same Day Premieres are not a part of the ad-supported version of the streamer.

When Does “King Richard” Premiere?

What is “King Richard” About?

Based on the true story that will inspire the world, Warner Bros. Pictures’ King Richard follows the journey of Richard Williams, an undeterred father instrumental in raising two of the most extraordinarily gifted athletes of all time, who will end up changing the sport of tennis forever. Two-time Oscar nominee Will Smith (Ali, The Pursuit of Happyness, Bad Boys for Life) stars as Richard, under the direction of Reinaldo Marcus Green (Monsters and Men).

Driven by a clear vision of their future and using unconventional methods, Richard has a plan that will take Venus and Serena Williams from the streets of Compton, California to the global stage as legendary icons. The profoundly moving film shows the power of family, perseverance and unwavering belief as a means to achieve the impossible and impact the world.

Aunjanue Ellis (If Beale Street Could Talk, TV’s Quantico) plays the girls’ mom, Oracene “Brandi” Williams, Saniyya Sidney (Hidden Figures, Fences) stars as Venus Williams, Demi Singleton (TV’s Godfather of Harlem) stars as Serena Williams, with Tony Goldwyn (the Divergent series, TV’s Scandal) as coach Paul Cohen and Jon Bernthal (The Many Saints of Newark, Ford v Ferrari) as coach Rick Macci. The ensemble also includes Andy Bean, Kevin Dunn (HBO’s Veep) and Craig Tate.

Green directed King Richard from a screenplay written by Zach Baylin. The producers were Tim White and Trevor White under their Star Thrower Entertainment banner, and Will Smith under his Westbrook banner. Isha Price, Serena Williams, Venus Williams, James Lassiter, Jada Pinkett Smith, Adam Merims, Lynn Harris, Allan Mandelbaum, Jon Mone and Peter Dodd served as the executive producers.

We are not sure why KING RICHARD is not available to you as HBO Max should be the primary source of content on HBO Nordic. If you can’t find it then you must have to wait until HBO (which is just one source of HBO Max content) airs the movie in a couple of months.

No. Once onsite find the movie or Search for it and enjoy. Hurry though, it only lasts on the site until December 18. If you miss that window of opportunity don’t worry, in a few months, it will return.

You are not the only one apparently. The movie is only available on the Add-Free plan. Try to open it from another area like from the Just Added category or keep refreshing the main page until “King Richard” is the featured content and access it there. If all else fails cruise to the Help Page.

I have clicked on King Richard every day since it came out and I keep getting a message that there is a problem and won’t show me the film. What’s going on?

I am sorry to hear that. I just tested it and the movie works fine for me. You do have to be subscribed to the Ad-Free version of HBO Max in order to play the Same-Day Premieres. Perhaps it is your wifi signal strength?

I’m on the HBOMAx website, having paid my $14.99, and I can’t find King Richard!

Sorry, but I found it with no problem today. Either click on the Search and type in the title or go to the grouping entitled “Just Added” on the main page and it should be the first title listed.
