HBOWATCH: Congratulations to all of the nominees! Great work again this year, HBO.

You’re reading this correctly. Game of Thrones was NOT nominated for anything this year. Last year Peter Dinklage took home the prize and the series itself was nominated for best drama. We expect Game of Thrones season 2 to pick up some technical awards this season but this snub doesn’t make sense to us.

Not that surprising really, S02 was weaker than S01 of Game of Thrones imo.

I agree. But if any GoT actor we’re to get an award for season 2, my vote would go to Maisie Williams (Arya Stark).

Yeah I think they could have squeezed in there. Though season 2 got about the same ratings I just don’t think it made as big of a splash as the premiere season. Season 3 however should make a huge impact as Storm of Swords is widely regarded as the best in the series. If only because the most shit goes down.

Yeah I wouldn’t call it weaker but it sort of sets up season 3, I think. As much as I love Stannis it was basically about his rise and fall. Not quite as enthralling as Ned Stark’s story.

Jon with the wildlings and the war and the shit that goes down at KL should make season 3 amazing.

You are right, that doesn’t make sense with all the powerful & meaningful performances from GOT this past season.
Still nice to know, however, that HBO still dominated the nominees even without including GAME OF THRONES.
