Here is an official press release that declared that DUNE: PROPHECY has snapped the clapboard on the first scenes to be shot for Season Two.
- Production has commenced on the eight-episode second season of HBO Original drama series DUNE: PROPHECY, from showrunner Alison Schapker. Filming is taking place in Hungary, Jordan, and Spain. Season one received four Emmy® nominations this year.
- Season 1 logline: From the expansive universe of “Dune,” created by acclaimed author Frank Herbert, and 10,000 years before the ascension of Paul Atreides, DUNE: PROPHECY follows two Harkonnen sisters as they combat forces that threaten the future of humankind, and establish the fabled order that will become known as the Bene Gesserit.
- Newly announced cast: Indira Varma (“Coldwater,” “The Night Manager,” “Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One”) Ashley Walters (“Top Boy,” “Adolescence,” “Bullet Boy”)Tom Hollander (HBO’s “The White Lotus,” “The Night Manager,” “Feud: Capote vs. The Swans”)
- Returning cast: Emily Watson, Olivia Williams, Travis Fimmel, Jodhi May, Sarah-Sofie Boussnina, Josh Heuston, Chloe Lea, Jade Anouka, Faoileann Cunningham, Edward Davis, Aoife Hinds, Chris Mason, Shalom Brune-Franklin, Jessica Barden, Emma Canning, Yerin Ha, Barbara Marten, and Tessa Bonham Jones.
- Credits: Alison Schapker serves as showrunner and executive producer. Jordan Goldberg, Mark Tobey, Kevin Lau, Monica Owusu-Breen, Matthew King, Scott Z. Burns, and Jon Spaihts serve as executive producers alongside Brian Herbert, Byron Merritt, and Kim Herbert for the Frank Herbert estate. Kevin J. Anderson serves as co-producer. The series is co-produced by HBO and Legendary Television with Legendary also producing the film franchise. DUNE: PROPHECY is inspired by the novel “Sisterhood of Dune,” written by Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson.

Naturally, with the sophomore season just literally getting underway, there is no footage, no teasers or trailers, no marketing posters or premiere dates to announce. We will keep you informed when any of that drops, but for now, you’ll just have to be satisfied in knowing that another season is in the works and, like anything in the DUNE Universe, it is going to be eye-catching and thrilling.
