GoldenGlobes75th-300x174HBO is proud to announce twelve nominations have the potential to take home a Golden Globe Award at the upcoming ceremony. The 75th annual Golden Globe Awards, presented by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, will be presented on January 07, 2018 with Seth Myers hosting. HBO will be represented as the network with, yet again, the most nominations. Via a press release here are the nominees.

* 6 nominations for BIG LITTLE LIES: Best Television Limited Series or Motion Picture Made for Television, 2 for Best Performance by an Actress in a Limited Series or Motion Picture Made for Television (Nicole Kidman, Reese Witherspoon),

Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role in a Series, Limited Series or Motion Picture Made for Television (Alexander Skarsgård) and

2 for Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role in a Series, Limited Series or Motion Picture Made for Television (Laura Dern, Shailene Woodley).

Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role in a Series, Limited Series or Motion Picture Made for Television (Michelle Pfeiffer).

* 1 nomination for THE DEUCE: Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series – Drama (Maggie Gyllenhaal).

* 1 nomination for GAME OF THRONES: Best Television Series – Drama.

* 1 nomination for INSECURE: Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series – Musical or Comedy (Issa Rae).

* 1 nomination for THE YOUNG POPE: Best Performance by an Actor in a Limited Series or Motion Picture Made for Television (Jude Law).

BigLittleLies_title-300x114In a look at some of the races BIG LITTLE LIES is up against Fargo, Feud: Bette and Joan, The Sinner & Top of the Lake: China Girl in its category and Kidman & Witherspoon compete against the likes Lange & Sarandon for Feud and Jessica Biel for The Sinner. Maggie Gyllenhaal faces off with Caitriona Balfe for Outlander, Claire Foy for The Crown, Katherine Langford for 13 Reasons Why and Elisabeth Moss for The Handmaid’s Tale. In contention for Best Dramatic Series alongside GAME OF THRONES are The Crown, The Handmaid’s Tale, Stranger Things and This Is Us.

We will soon see just how much the foreign movie critics like HBO content by the number of Golden Globes HBO walks away with. We’ll let you know.

HBOs two best dramas, The Leftovers and The Deuce, were shockingly ignored.

At least Maggie Gyllenhaal got the recognition she deserves, her performance was extraordinary!

I hear you. I thought I was the only one who appreciated THE LEFTOVERS because the award circuit sure doesn’t.

Ugh, yeah I think it’s just too noisy right now. Everyone wants to get onto the streaming bandwagon so they throw their votes towards those.
