Casey Bloys himself has confirmed that the HARRY POTTER series is on a fast track. Season Two is already being written as Season One works through its shooting agenda. It only makes sense, as the production is working against the rate of growth and maturity of its youth actors. He stated,  –

“The plan is to still try and get it — I don’t know if it’s going to be like stop shooting Season 1 on Friday and start Season 2 on Monday. There’ll be a break in there, but we’re going to do whatever we can to not have a huge gap. For the kids, obviously, but also for viewers. You know, trying to not have massive gaps. It is a big show, lots of special effects, obviously, massive operation, but we’re going to do what we can.”

Yes, for the viewer’s sake, it makes sense as well because there are already several HBO shows that have huge lag times between seasons, like DUNE: PROPHECY, HOUSE OF THE DRAGON, THE LAST OF US, and don’t even get us started on EUPHORIA. Keeping the show tight and moving will be difficult, but it will also keep everyone’s interest up for the series. There must be the factor that the IP is a healthy one with fans eager for every inch of footage. Sure, purists will surely bark at each misstep, but HBO should hold strong confidence that the show will be a huge success, and they can afford to keep the production rolling by keeping as far ahead in production as they can at WB’s Leavesden lot.

HarryPotter_InProductionPic1The young actor portraying Harry Potter, Dominic McLaughlin, was quoted as saying that “production was going really well” and, of course, there was the message from Daniel Radcliffe, the original on-screen Boy Wizard. Radcliffe told Good Morning America that he had sent a letter off to McLaughlin, wishing him luck. He said,  –

“I wouldn’t say that anyone who is going to play Harry has to [reach out]. I know a few people who are working on the production, so I wrote to Dominic and I sent him a letter, and he sent me a very sweet note back. I just wanted to write to him to say, ‘I hope you have the best time, and an even better time than I did — I had a great time, but I hope you have an even better time. And I do, I just see these pictures of him and the other kids and I just want to hug them. They just seem so young. I just look at them and say, ‘Oh it’s crazy I was doing that.’ But it’s also incredibly sweet and I hope they’re having a great time.”

McLaughlin remarked,

“It was insane. My Dad tapped me on the train and just gave me this letter. I read it and then I got to the bottom, and it said, ‘Dan R.’ I was going mad, but I had to [keep cool]. I was on the train.”

We’re glad the lad is having the time of his life, as Radcliffe did. The series is said to be plotted out for seven seasons, so he is in for the long haul alongside the rest of the cast and crew. We are sure to have more to say about HARRY POTTER as time goes on, but remember, it isn’t due to run on HBO until 2027.
