Well, I have some absolutely breath-takingly delightful news. If you have enjoyed the caustic wit and wisdom of one Deborah Vance (Jean Smart) then you are in luck. The sassy star will be back with another season! Officially confirmed for season three, we’ll hopefully get to see the return of a few fan favorites when Hacks returns for another round.
The show has been raking in accolades since season one including Emmy wins so it’s no surprise that HBO Max knows when it has a hit on their hands. The sweet yet often turbulent relationship between mentor Deb and mentee Ava (Hannah Einbinder) has swept us off our feet and even though season two ended the way it did, I see no reason that season three can’t bring these incredible ladies back together. I think we’re like to find that the two find it hard to stay away from each other given their chemistry and working bond. Birds of a feather flock together and I can’t see them staying away for long. They’re just too good together!
We can now gleefully delve into potential storylines and wonder what might be. I’m dying to see some more flashbacks of how everything went down with Deb’s ex and her sister. Deb’s going to have new opportunities ahead but what will she be interested in? Ava might find success writing in television but does it compare with the allure of writing stand-up jokes for Deb? We shall see. But for now, we can be content in the knowledge that we’ll see these hilarious women again as well as hopefully more of the outstanding cast. Including Caitlin Olson, Christopher McDonald, Paul W. Downs, Megan Stalter, Carl Clemons-Hopkins, and others, there’s so much story left ahead! I’m utterly ecstatic and cannot wait for more!
