HACKS Hopes for a DVD Box Set!

The creative minds behind HBO Max’s successful Jean Smart comedy HACKS, which just wrapped up a five-season run back on May 28. 2026, want to keep the show alive by creating a DVD box set. They have solid reasons why, and it’s not just because they want loyal fans to hold onto their cherished show.

Show producers/runners Lucia Aniello, Paul W. Downs (who also appeared onscreen as Jimmy LuSaque Jr) and Jen Statsky explained to Deadline their intent. They state,

“It’s such an important time for people to invest in physical media because you’re right, things are coming down all the time and it’s like, ‘Oh, I love that movie, I want to see it.’ You just can’t, babe, it doesn’t exist. That does really put so much power of the distribution of art in the hands of algorithms and people’s whims and certain executives not liking somebody’s brother, so they take down their movie or show or whatever. It is really scary, the idea of censorship, especially as more and more companies are bought up by other companies. And so, we’re really hoping to make a Hacks DVD box set, for one. We’re trying to make that happen. That’s an exclusive. Please go buy it, not because we make any money off of it. We just want to make sure the show stays in existence for as long as DVD players exist.”

Deborah Vance certainly wouldn’t want it any other way. Of course, there are DVD sets of every single season as they rolled out, and even a three-season set (pictured here), but the creative team hopes for a definitive complete set of all five seasons stacked with the usual deleted scenes, outtakes, etc. most boxed sets come with.

So, are you hankering for a complete set of the entire HACKS series? Deborah Vance would love it if all eyes were on her for perpetuity, right? Aniello, Downs & Startsky are trying to line up just such a package, and we can only hope it comes around for this Holiday. Keep your eyes out for it.
