As we say our heartfelt goodbyes to HBO’s Game of Thrones this Sunday night we can all take solace in the fact that season two is set to begin principal filming in Belfast, Northern Ireland on July 25th of this year! This is almost the same date that production began for this season of Game of Thrones last year so we can probably expect a similar release date for the second season. Season two will be based on the second novel in the Song of Ice and Fire series entitled “A Clash of Kings“. It remains to be seen whether or not HBO will use that name or, more likely, stick with the title that everyone already knows. Just today the official twitter account refered to the new season as “Game of Thrones Season 2”.
