HBO’s Game of Thrones pulled even more viewers in than it did last week. The main 9PM airing of the show was viewed by over 2.5 million people (about 100,000 more than last week). This is great news for HBO and it’s risky decision to film the fantasy epic by George R. R Martin.
The fifth episode promises big things for the series with our heroes (the House of Stark) finally confronting the villains (most of the Lannisters). Sex and political intrigue are sure to follow suit as viewers new to the series may finally have a grip on the sprawling world of Westeros.
Ratings numbers around the net have varied because many outlets count ALL of the airings of the show as one (larger) ratings number. When combined, each episode is seen by more like five million people. Game of Thrones looks to be the real deal with a second season already on order. We’ll see you on the King’s Road this Sunday night.
