HBO just dropped one of the first promotional photos of the upcoming sixth season of Game of Thrones, and Bran Stark is all grown up.  It’s been a long time since we’ve seen one of the last remaining Stark children. Bran, the visionary cripple of the Stark children was last seen in Season Four, finally meeting Bloodraven (who will be played by Max von Sydow this season), his mysterious mentor for the first time, before his character took a hiatus for the entirety of Season Five. Now, Bran is returning to Season Six with new-found powers, not to mention a haircut and an undeniable look of maturity. It’s interesting to note that in the picture, Bran is on a horse. Could he be going on a journey? With Game of Thrones finally moving ahead the story line of George R.R. Martin’s published books, it’s difficult to predict what is in store for Bran’s character. If only we all had his abilities to look into the future. In the meantime, it’s exciting that Bran will be back on the show this season. His almost omniscient perspective on the chaos taking place in Westeros should add an interesting layer of intrigue to the upcoming story lines.

We actually put together a Guide about Bran- The Broken Wolf of Winterfell so give that a read if you’re really interested in this character.

Game of Thrones season 6 airs in April of 2016.

My Bran, how you’ve grown up! I am immensely excited to see him back on screen. I absolutely fell in love with his character in season one, and this past season made me miss him terribly.

I think Bran looks older and more mature, given what he’s endured the past few seasons. The haircut looks good on him and I look forward to seeing his story line in season 6.
