Derek Jeter, longtime captain of the New York Yankees will be the subject of a forthcoming HBO documentary. One of MLB’s all-time hitting leaders, Jeter is poised to stroke his 3000th hit this year, a feat only a handful of other baseball greats have accomplished. The HBO Documentary team with have to scour through hundreds of hours of video including his most recent hits for the aptly titled “Derek Jeter 3K” doc.
It will include interviews with Yankees co-owner Hal Steinbrenner, General Manager Brian Cashman, manager Joe Girardi, former manager Joe Torre, teammates Curtis Granderson and Mariano Rivera, and his fiancee Minka Kelly. No date has been set for the premiere but we’ll keep you abreast. -HBOWatch
