We don’t know how long most of you have been attuned to HBO but one comedy series that stood out was FLIGHT OF THE CONCHORDS. It ran two seasons ending in 2009. The duo, Jermaine Clement & Bret McKenzie got into all sorts of exploits with girls and with work, but they always managed to wrap it all up in a silly song each week. These new Zealanders have turned all those ditties and others, not created for the show, into a sold-out musical tour.
On their latest tour, HBO got to film it for an upcoming HBO Special that we first brought to your attentionon 03.08.18. In that post, we announced that the HBO Special would appear in May but that was likely when it was filmed in London. It now makes it to HBO and its platforms in October. HBO states the details:
FLIGHT OF THE CONCHORDS: LIVE AT THE LONDON APOLLO will debut SATURDAY, OCTOBER 06 at 10:00pm, exclusively on HBO. Taped before a soldout audience at the Eventim Apollo in London, musical comedians Bret McKenzie and Jemaine Clement return to HBO to perform their classics and new original songs from their “Flight of the Conchords Sing Flight of the Conchords Tour.” The comedy special is directed by Hamish Hamilton; executive producers are Jemaine Clement, Bret McKenzie and Mike Martinovich.
You might hear songs like “Business Time,” “The Most Beautiful Girl (In The Room),”If You’re Into It,” and “Hiphopopotumus vs. Rhymenoceros.” Hell yeah, it’s a real song.
