People_AndySamberg7 DAYS OF HELL is an original movie getting on the fast track with HBO. Andy Samberg (SNL and Brooklyn Nine-Nine) and Kit Harington (GAME OF THRONES) are said to star. It is an original concept based on the true 2010 event when two tennis players at Wimbledon competed for eleven hours over three days. Samberg is behind it alongside writer Murray Miller (GIRLS). It is being developed as a ‘mock’umentary style comedy.

According to Deadline, Samberg(right) and Harington(below) will play rival players on the court. Samberg’s Aaron Williams is tennis’ superstar bad boy, while Harington’s Charles Poole is channeling Andy Murray, a tennis prodigy and certified truck driver. But rounding out these two is a great cast of talents. Fred Armisen(Portlandia), Lena Dunham(GIRLS), Will Forte(SNL), Karen Gillan(Dr. Who), Howie Mandel(America’s Got Talent), Michael Sheen(Masters Of Sex), Mary Steenburgen(BORED TO DEATH), June Squibb(GETTING ON) and Soledad O’Brien (as herself) all appear.

People_KitHaringtonWe know Gillian plays a supermodel who is a friend of Charles’ but has made a sex tape with Aaron. Steenburgen is Charles’ controlling mother and Forte plays a tennis historian. Together this cast will set up all the people following the tournament as these two rivals battle it out on the court. It is directed by Jake Szymanski (FUNNY OR DIE PRESENTS… and SNL). Samberg and Miller executive produce with David Bernad (ENLIGHTENED), while Jonathan Buss is co-executive producing.

It sounds like it could be fun. The humor of Andy Samberg would be a nice addition to the HBO stable. HBOWatch will keep a look out for any news about it. Will they get to film on the Wimbeldon Courts?
