First, we were given a little Teaser clip back in May telling us to look forward to the return of SUCCESSION at some point. Then in June, we got confirmation that the sophomore season was going to begin on 08 .11.19. Now we have a full trailer, clocking in at 2 minutes and 4 seconds setting us up for what is next for the conflicted Roy family. Take a look.

Great, just great, isn’t it? One of the best lines from the trailer that made me smirk was Logan Roy’s (Brian Cox) line for everyone to “Just stay in your lane.” The moments in the trailer up to that point showed everyone pretty much doing the exact opposite of that. Hah! He also lashes out with “Cut the horseshit. Know your role.” Yeah, no problem my role is that of a viewer for sure. You?

Created by Oscar and WGA nominee Jesse Armstrong (“In the Loop”), with the pilot written by Armstrong and directed by Oscar-winner Adam McKay (“The Big Short”), SUCCESSION launched its ten-episode first season in 2018. Beginning where season one dramatically left off, season two follows the Roy family as they struggle to retain control of their empire, and while the future looks increasingly uncertain, it is the past that threatens to ultimately destroy them. The season two SuccessionS2_Postercast includes Brian Cox, Jeremy Strong, Hiam Abbass, Sarah Snook, Kieran Culkin, Alan Ruck, Nicholas Braun, Matthew Macfadyen, Peter Friedman, Rob Yang, J. Smith Cameron, Dagmara Dominczyk and Arian Moayed. Season two credits: SUCCESSION was created by Jesse Armstrong; executive produced by Jesse Armstrong, Adam McKay, Frank Rich, Kevin Messick, Will Ferrell, Jane Tranter, Mark Mylod and Tony Roche. Jesse Armstrong serves as showrunner.

It is not too late to binge-watch Season One on HBONow/Go before Season Two begins because this show is that good. In fact, alongside GAME OF THRONES, this show has garnered a Best Drama Series nomination for the upcoming Emmy Awards. It has four other nominations as well including Best Direction and Best Writing for a Drama Series. Plus, don’t forget, that Holly Hunter has a big role as a rival CEO to clash with the Roy family. Who do you think should be the heir to the Roy empire? It is going to be a rocky road still for the contenders. Besides the biting trailer, another indication of that is contained within the poster image seen here two ways. A lovely Roy dinner scene is shown. That is not veining in a marble table. Emanating from the patriarch’s end of that table is a long crack once again giving us the suggestion that this an unstable family truly divided and capable of crumbling at any moment. Don’t miss what happens when Season Two debuts 08.11.19 on HBO.
