Treme-DVD-Blu-Ray-AprilEveryone’s favorite motif of New Orleans (NOLA to locals), Treme will finally see it’s second season on DVD and Blu-Ray this spring! We’ve just received the details from HBO on what will be included. Here is the description:

14 months have passed since Hurricane Katrina, but residents of the Crescent City are finding it harder than ever to rebuild their lives, much less hold on to their unique cultural identity. Some have become expatriates in distant cities. The insurance checks that never arrived for homeowners were followed by the bureaucratic nightmare that was the Road Home program, and a land-grab is underway as developers and disaster capitalists press their advantage. Crime and drug use are up, and corruption and graft are endemic, with civic institutions unable to counter any of it. And yet the culture of New Orleans somehow endures.

• Special Features: Treme Symposium, Invitation to set, Walking with Wendell, AUDIO COMMENTARY, Music Commentaries, The Music of Treme

Be sure to pre-order your copy for $45 on Amazon and $54 for the Blu-Ray set. Season 3 has been confirmed but no premiere date has been set as of yet. We’ll keep you posted!

I wonder if people want this in there collection for TREME, in my opinion, is an aquired taste. I, for one, have enjoyed the series spooling out once a week but, it isn’t a must-have series for my shelf.

It has been a wonderful to replay the situations and troubles that lingered well after the storm and I’m sure those personally touched by Katrina and residents of NOLA may want this series to help chronicle that time. I’ll pass but await Season 3.

Honestly I think it’s popular with people who are in/from/know New Orleans. Apparently it’s very realistic of the culture.

And because of TREME we to get to understand the stresses and the anger and the hope that existed at that time in that place;,thus making it a good series.
