Yet another project gets a series order. This time it is Mike Judge’s SILICON VALLEY. HBOWatch tracked this development in two posts: we reported the plans back in 12.12 and noted the pilot being shot in 03.13. HBO must have liked the pilot and now the show gets the go ahead to film a series to add to HBO’s comedy slate.
The show, created by the King Of The Hill triumvirate Mike Judge, John Altschuler and David Krinsky, is said to be a single-camera dark comedy set in the tech-heavy world of the Silicon Valley of California. The pilot, directed by Judge, starred T J Miller and Thomas Middleditch. Of course, that does not mean this work will not be retooled or recast for the series commitment. It has not been made clear at this time how many episodes were ordered for Season One.
So, are we to think it has the science geekery of The Big Bang Theory coupled with the work place antics of Mike Judge’s own Office Space movie? We will have to wait until 2014 to find out. HBOWatch will keep you informed as this comedy and others take shape.

It will be interesting to see how raunchy the humor is. Most computer experts I know like their humor very dirty, LOL!
To overcompensate for what Tamara?
This sounds intriguing, I’ll definitely put this on my list to check out. I’m always drawn to anything with “dark comedy” in the description. Judge has been hit or miss for me in the past, so I’m interested to see what this turns out to be.
I prefer “dark comedy” as well, but as a male I also got to love the farcial slapstick of the Three Stooges too. I guess I love my comedy at one extreme or the other.
:D My dad brought me up on the Three Stooges, so I’ve got quite a soft spot for that type of humor too!
