After eighteen seasons and almost two hundred installments it appears that REAL SPORTS WITH BRYANT GUMBEL is not slowing down. In fact, it has signed new blood in front of the camera with Soledad O’Brien.
Though a specific debut date is not revealed the award-winning broadcast journalist will soon appear reporting the top news in the vast sports arena. O’Brien is also said to have a development deal with HBO as well. That means the network has first look at any scripted projects and long-form programming concepts that she and her team develop.
Upon coming to HBO the following quotes were made. First is Ken Hershman, president, HBO Sports.

Soledad O’Brien herself said –
