minipost_LizaMThe award-winning entertainer Liza Minnelli is featured on the upcoming album Boardwalk Empire Volume 2: Music from the HBO Original Series. She belts the song first recorded by Sophie Tucker called ‘You’ve Got To See Mama Ev’ry Night (Or you Can’t See Mama At All.)

Now I don’t know what you know about Liza M. but believe me when I say she would fit right into the world of Nucky Thompson and Atlantic City NJ in the 1920’s. Liza Minnelli thinks so as well. She has been quoted as saying –

“I was so thrilled to be asked to work on this project for an amazing show, with such wonderful people involved. Now I can only hope they would ask me to be on the show.”

That would certainly be awesome. We will have to wait and see. To promote the Soundtrack album here is a promotional clip. It is really an audio clip; there isn’t much to look at here. Just imagine a speakeasy on the Boardwalk as you step inside to get out of the sun and from on the stage you hear…

When will the soundtrack for season 3 be released? I’m still aching to hear The National’s rendition of I’ll See You in My Dreams and am disappointed they haven’t announced anything, given Season 4 is days away.

The Soundtracks arent based on seasons. They just come in volumes so this should include S3 stuff. I still listen to Vol 1 ALL ThE TIME so this one is exciting. We’ll review the whole thing here once it’s out.
