Below is confirmation that three productions are soon to be HBO FILMS. All three of these films are in different stages of development, but they should air relatively soon on the pay channel. We will give you more details of each movie as they get closer to air date. They all three look like exciting additions to HBO.
- HBOWatch first posted about BEHIND THE CANDELABRA back in October of 2011. Well, now there is proof that the production has started filming.
This picture gives us a glimpse of Michael Douglas as the flamboyant performer known as Liberace and behind him is Matt Damon as Scott Thorson, the performer’s live in lover. The story of the famed entertainer and his on and off stage life is under the direction of Steven Soderbergh. This HBO FILM has just gotten under way and this picture is credited as one of the first ones taken from the project. HBOWatch will have more news on this work as it comes available.
- This site was also on top of the news when a signed deal came together for a movie about British director Alfred Hitchcock. We reported in December 2012 that a yet untitled film was in development. Now it has a name and it is THE GIRL.
It is no mistake that the man above is Mr. Hitchcock who is being played by Toby Jones but, who is THE GIRL? She is the director’s go to starlet Tippi Hedren played in this film by Sienna Miller. It is said that they had a unique relationship and we will see it played out when THE GIRL premieres on October 20, 2012.
- PARADE’S END is a joint production by HBO and BBC. Though no word has been set for HBO’s air date the British telly has been talking about an Autumn premiere for the piece starring Benedict Cumberbatch. It is the story of a love triangle during the heart of World War One.
It is airing as a five-part series in England so if HBO is airing it in the same format than it has got to pick the right window of opportunity to air it. With BOARDWALK EMIPRE and TREME starting again in September and THE GIRL scheduled for October this movie may not appear until early in 2013. As always HBOWatch will let you know once dates are confirmed.
