We guess you could say that Lena Dunham is doing well. So much so that her HBO comedy GIRLS has just been picked up for a fifth season and that is before the fourth season has even debuted. Don’t worry though, the upcoming ten-episode season comes our way beginning 01.11.15 at 9:00pm. Though the show has had its number of dissenters (including this writer for almost the same reasons this writer for Huffington Post is) it has garnered a number of awards and praise over the years plus a social media following the envy of any millennial.

Girls_Winners

In Sept. 2012, GIRLS won an Emmy for Outstanding Casting for a Comedy Series and Dunham was nominated for Best Actress, Writer & Director and the series itself was nominated for Outstanding Comedy. In 2013 and in 2014 both GIRLS and its creator were nominated again and the series actually picked up a Golden Globe 2013. GIRLS has just been nominated for 2015 Golden Globe Awards in the categories of Best Television Series – Comedy or Musical and Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series – Comedy or Musical (Lena Dunham).

Surely these accolades and praises have helped boost the comedy into being one of the premier comedies currently on HBO. The notoriety cast have received in other media projects hasn’t hurt either. For example, there is Dunham’s book and Williams’ Peter Pan Live. So it should not be a surprise that a fifth season has been given the go. In fact, Season Four got the green light before Season Three’s premiere.

But fans don’t need to get ahead of themselves. Enjoy Season Four first. To help you along here is a clip not seen on this site yet for the upcoming season. GIRLS was created by Lena Dunham; executive producers, Lena Dunham, Judd Apatow, Jenni Konner, Ilene S. Landress, Murray Miller, Paul Simms and Bruce Eric Kaplan; producer, Jesse Peretz; co-producer, Sarah Heyward.

Get ready, because whether you love them or not, GIRLS are here to stay…at least into 2016.
