The creators of Boardwalk Empire and one of the head honchos from The Sopranos are making another series for HBO. Oh, you’re interested already? Let us tell you a bit more. The show follows the drug using, sex crazed world of music creation in the 1970’s. It stars some big names and from the look of this first trailer, might just be the next big show in this new golden age of television. Martin Scorses and Mick Jagger (yeah, that MJ) are on this production so you know it’s going to be legit.

Here’s the first trailer:

WOW. You know what this reminds me of? Take the period authenticity of Mad Men, mix it with the darkness of The Sopranos or Boardwalk Empire and set it to the soundtrack of the 70’s and you’ve got HBO’s Vinyl.

Vinyl premieres in 2016 but we’re not told exactly when yet. We’re hoping sooner (January) rather than later and the fact that this trailer is out is a good sign.  We’ll publish the premiere date when it’s official.

Need more?  HBO is posting clips to instagram like candy rocks of cocaine.  Here’s a taste:

Why would nobody care? It hasn’t even started yet, go into it with an open mind and then make your judgement.
