The 70th Annual Golden Globes were held last night, which just so happened to be the same night as the premiere for Season Two of Girls. Now, on any normal premiere night, I’m sure writer/director Lena Dunham would be eating junk food while watching her hit-series with the rest of her adoring fans. Fortunately for Dunham, last night was no normal premiere. The show took home two statuettes at the Golden Globes award ceremony, including one for Best Actress in a TV Series – Comedy or Musical (Dunham) and another for Best TV Series – Comedy or Musical. Two very prestigious awards to say the least. Other than winning an Emmy for Best Casting, this is the first time that Dunham herself, as well as the other cast members and writers, have been recognized for their work. Not a bad way to celebrate the premiere of Season Two!
In other HBO news, the original movie Game Change took home 3 statuettes. Those awards are as follows:
- Best Miniseries or Television Film
- Best Actress in a Miniseries or Television Film – Julianne Moore
- Best Supporting Actor in a Series, Miniseries, or Television Film – Ed Harris
HBOWatch would like to congratulate everyone on their wins last night. You’re the reason we all keep watching!!

Do any straight guys watch Girls?
I’m glad to see that GAME CHANGE earned those awards and am surprised that GIRLS won what it did.
